Hello & Welcome!

Hello there, I’m Rebecca and I’m more than a little obsessed with photography, it really is something I live and breath! I am based on the clifftops of the wonderful seaside town of Ramsgate in Kent where on a clear day I can see the cliffs of the French coastline sparkling in the distance! I love to travel and work across Kent and have shot all over the UK and abroad with couples in Iceland, Norway, Paris, Brugge, and Italy, so let’s go on an adventure together! To get to know me and see how I work, hit play and I can take you behind the scenes…..

A little bit about me….

What totally makes me tick is capturing honest and authentic images that time capsule moments, tell your story and this is all possible by putting you at the heart of what I do. I adore hearing about your ideas for your big day and how you would like my photography to be shaped around that. I naturally slot in to documenting moments as they unfold and you could say this is my mission, to capture you, being you having the best time with your family and friends.

I love capturing authentic moments, there will be no feeling awkward with me, our time is better spent embracing joy and laughter, and relaxing with all of your loved ones around. I feel honoured to do what I do and it is a total treat to work with folk to create quirky, fun and natural images with a creative twist. Photos are so important, the still frames that are our connection to our past and our legacy for the future. If you want to find about more about my ‘why’, I have written some words with some special images, which you can see by clicking here.

Come and join me behind the scenes and see me work....

How it all began…..

My days are completed by my husband Mark (an übermaths geek) and our cute cats Misu, Atlas and Solar (if you’re wondering, their names are inspired by my favourite pudding Tiramisu and our geek streaks for geography and the sun!). One of my first jobs was processing 35mm film at Lawn’s in Broadstairs so photography and I have had a long history! I am lucky enough to have moved from a career teaching folk photography and advising on employability in higher education and have been capturing weddings, families and lifestyle brands for eight years.

Inspired by nature….

Living by the sea means I am cocooned by the environment that inspires me and nourishes my creativity. The dynamic nature of the coast, tides coming and going, sunrises and sunsets, its ever changing and ever inspiring and I document this coastal life in my Stories of the Sea. I love walking in deserted woodland and I am easily distracted by nature, birds fascinate me (not-so-closet RSPB, National Trust  & Woodland Trust member!) and I adore being outside, seeing, listening and just being. I did a geography degree so being good to our environment is important to me and my obsession with my regular travels in Iceland lets me live out this geekery in an epic and inspiring land.

Sustainability and carbon offsetting….

Looking after our environment is really important to me. I have worked with the Woodland Trust to create new native woodland, which will absorb of carbon dioxide, helping me to reduce my business carbon footprint. In addition to this, I donate to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and the RSPB. I support Greenpeace on their mission to reduce the consumption of single use plastics and regularly litter pick on my local beach after seeing the direct impact to marine life that plastic can cause. I am on a mission to cut the plastic I use both within the business and personally.

Making & music….

Music is my life blood. I always listen to spotify (click here for a list of my favourite tunes to edit to), sing and play piano and sax. Mark and I play in The Railway Swing Band, raising money for local charities through our concert programme and a few years ago I had a ball playing in a function band too! Our first dance was one of the first songs we play in the band we met in. I love to make things and see things grow. You could say I am a cardigan-wearing-craft addict, always pottering with a project, gardening, crocheting, sewing and making, which includes my handmade packaging.

These are a few of my favorite things
